See below for Clinics/Seminars, Guides, Trips and other Events on kayak fishing as broken down by their Ontario regions.
Surrounded by Lake Erie, Lake Huron, Lake Ontario and Georgian Bay, this region is the largest fresh water peninsula in the world. Southern Ontario is also the most temperate region in the province where the four seasons become very distinct. Open water for kayak fishing can be found from April to December, with open fishing seasons for most species from June to October.
Consisting of inland lakes, rivers and the Great Lakes, there is never a shortage of species to target from a kayak. The most sought after fish are Largemouth/Smallmouth Bass, Muskie, Northern Pike, Perch, Walleye, panfish, Brown trout, Lake Trout, Steelhead, Chinook & Coho Salmon. There are also two "fish superhighways", the Detroit River and the Niagara River. These two rivers are actually straits that adjoin the Great Lakes Basin. Fishing on either of these two waterbodies can be very good but is not recommended without an experienced local.
